• Labour Mobility & Workforce Protections: The new Ontario Labour Mobility Act introduces “As of Right” rules, allowing certified professionals from other provinces to work in Ontario within 10 business days. Additional measures under the Working for Workers Acts mandate defibrillators on large construction sites, transparency in job postings, and safeguards against fraudulent ads.
• Healthcare Access: Amendments to the Medicine Act and related regulations create a Provisional Class for physicians, expand “As of Right” rules to more health professionals, and enable secure digital access to personal health records.
• Transportation Safety: Changes to the Highway Traffic Act impose lifetime licence suspensions for impaired drivers causing death, stricter penalties for stunt driving, and new offences targeting vehicle theft.
• Economic Development: The new Special Economic Zones Act accelerates approvals for strategic projects, while energy reforms support Indigenous partnerships in nuclear development and increase electricity rebates for remote communities.
• Environmental & Housing Initiatives: Updates to the Provincial Parks Act and recycling regulations aim to balance growth with conservation, while housing reforms streamline planning and expand eligibility for assistance.
• Finance & Governance: Amendments modernize alcohol sales rules, enhance insurance transparency, and improve property assessment access. Pension changes align MPPs with the Public Service Pension Plan.
• Public Safety & Consumer Protection: New regulations strengthen fire safety enforcement, support human trafficking investigations, and require continuing education for motor vehicle dealers.
