The Working for Workers Seven Act, 2025 (Bill 30), passed on November 25, 2025, introduces significant amendments to Ontario’s Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIA) and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).

Key changes include new administrative monetary penalties (AMPs) for employers who provide false statements to the WSIB, fail to maintain accurate payroll records, or delay premium payments, alongside increased fines for repeat corporate offences (up to $750,000 per conviction).

The WSIB gains expanded inspection powers, and certain employers may receive reimbursement for workplace defibrillators. Additionally, OHSA now features a new AMP framework enabling inspectors to fine non-compliance without pursuing criminal charges, and mandates equal recognition of accredited health and safety management systems.
