COCA Committees

Mandate 

The WSIB/OH&S Committee is mandated to review public policy issues relating to the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) and occupational health and safety that impact the construction industry The committee identifies those issues that are of greatest importance to the membership and to conduct research and develop positions, recommendations and alternatives for approval by the Board of Directors.

The Construction Act Task Force is charged with ensuring that the Construction Act is implemented as intended and to support the passing of federal prompt payment legislation.

The Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship Committee monitors Skilled Trades Ontario’s (STO) role in apprenticeship registration, completion, and certification, and advocates for fair funding and stronger completion outcomes on members’ behalf.

The Procurement Committee provides leadership on key procurement issues by concentrating on high‑impact priorities, aligning longer‑term strategic objectives with near‑term opportunities to deliver practical value to member associations and their contractor members.

Mandate 

The Chief Operating Officers Committee was created as part of COCA’s Strategic Plan in 2003 to provide a forum for exchanging information and discussing common opportunities and challenges among the Chief Operating Officers of member associations.
